PAMELA WILSON

CELADON SEAS – FROM BARRIER REEF TO BARENTS SEA

SEPTEMBER 14 – OCTOBER 5, 2013

Internationally acclaimed Australian artist Pamela Wilson exhibits at Galleri Sebastian Schildt with woven works in different forms. Her textiles are woven with the golden threads of metal and linen and are large enough to brighten up an entire wall.

Wilson’s exhibited necklaces on the other hand are woven to fit the wearer perfectly. The common denominator in Celadon Seas – from Barrier Reef to Barents Sea is the idea of the sea as a messenger. Growing up near the Barrier Reef has left an indelible impression on Wilson; as a child, she could never get enough of all of the colours of the sea and the nuances in each wave. These shades of blue, green and grey are recurring in all of her exhibited works.
