Galleri Sebastian Schildt has the great pleasure to invite you to Silversmiths Karlheinz Sauer and Olle Olls´ first joint exhibition.

It is a meeting between two masters whose friendship began to blossom over thirty years ago when Olle Olls did his first apprenticeship in Karlheinz Sauer’s renowned workshop. In silversmithing, the relationship between master, journeyman and apprentice has an important role. In the best of worlds, as here, the knowledge has been shared generously and, together with other experiences, landed in new expressions.

Karlheinz Sauer presents ten elegant and playful jugs with ebony handles. Meticulous precision and a virtuoso craftsmanship mark everything that comes out of his hands. Beautiful boxes and magnificent jewelry in silver and gold with pearls and precious stones, are also on display.

Olle Olls shows new bowls made of so-called shrunken silver. Asymmetrical wrinkles play beautifully against the inside and outside of the bowls. It is an unconventional treatment that demonstrates the infinite possibilities of silver and gives rise to new visual and tactile experiences.

Karlheinz Sauer’s motto “it is only when you know your handicraft fundamentally that you can realize your ideas” permeates the entire exhibition. Likewise, the respectful relationship between a master and his apprentice which over time has developed into a meeting between two equals.
