Galleri Sebastian Schildt has the great pleasure of inviting you to a retrospective mini-exhibition where August Happ celebrates more than a decade’s work in the workshop.

In a short time, August Happ has established himself as one of our most skilled silversmiths. Eleven years ago, he started his own business and since then has produced many corpus objects, both custom-made and his own artistic work.

Beyond the first impression of technical perfection and advanced silversmithing, personal stories and private observations emerge. These are corpus objects that radiate strength and beauty, but if you scratch the surface, characteristics of difficulty and spleen appear.

Thousands of hammer blows have slowly shaped the silver into desired forms of both usable corpus and portable jewellery. In contrast to the polished surface, occur etched graffiti, expressive chasing and a rough skeletal hand.

August Happ offers an artistic exhibition that points the way for the contemporary silversmith.

The exhibition runs until February 17, 2022.
