Zsolt József Simon
Hungarian ceramic artist Zsolt József Simon creates organic shapes of species that have never existed. His works encourage reflection on all of life’s formations as well as how we as humans navigate through time and space.
Zsolt József Simon (b. 1973, Celldomolk) lives and works in Pécs, Hungary. He studied at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest as well as at UNAIR University in Surabaya, Indonesia. Simon has received many awards throughout the years, such as The Monica Biserni Prize at The 59th Faenza Prize (2015) and he was also the winner of the Milan “Open to Art” International Competition for Art, Ceramics and Design (2014). In 2009, Simon received the Honourable Mention Award at the 5th World Ceramic Biennale in South Korea. He is represented in collections such as Keramikmuseum Westerwald in Germany, The International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza and the International Ceramics Studio Collection of Contemporary Ceramics in Kecskemét, Hungary.
