Mats Theselius

Mats Theselius is a designer, artist and craftsperson whose widely different works are united by his curious, direct and explorative creative approach. No materials or categories are off limits to him. The exhibition “New Works” at the gallery presents paintings, unique furniture, slippers as well as tiles.

Mats Theselius (b. 1956, Stockholm) lives and works in Österlen. He is a designer and interior architect SIR/MSA, educated at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. From 1995 to 1996, he was a professor at HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg. In 1997, Theselius received the The Bruno Mathsson Award and he is currently a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts. Theselius is represented in numerous collections, including that of of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, The Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, The Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen and The National Museum in Oslo.
