Malin Pierre

Swedish visual artist Malin Pierre creates organic glass sculptures in seductive colours, inspired by haute couture as well as the experience of softness contrasted with hardness. With an intense curiosity for materials; their surfaces, weights and textures – Pierre works in an impulsive and exploratory manner. She is absorbed by the idea of how different materials appear and behave, and is motivated by the experience of their transition from soft to hard. Based on this, Pierre’s sculptural glass shapes manage to evoke the expression of sewing art and voluminous upholstery.

Malin Pierre, född 1977, bosatt och verksam i Stockholm. Utbildad på Konstfack (BA) i keramik och glas, går nu masterprogrammet CRAFT – keramik & glas på Konstfack. Hösten 2021 hade Malin Pierre sin första separatutställning på Galleri Sebastian Schildt. Malin Pierre har sedan tidigare en utbildning inom scenografi för film och TV och har över ett decennium verkat som frilansande scenograf och rekvisitör för olika typer av film och tv-produktioner.
