Klara Eriksson

Throughout her career, Swedish metal designer and silversmith Klara Eriksson has made the conscious effort to knock silver off its tradition-laden pedestal. She would instead like for silver to become part of everyday life, accentuating different experiences such as cooking. Her silver works are created to be used with joy and then inherited to future generations.

Klara Eriksson (b. 1972, Stockholm) lives and works in Stockholm. She holds an MFA in Metal Design from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Eriksson is head teacher for the education in Metal Design at Leksand folk high school. She is also a co-founder and member of the gallery and workshop collective LOD in Sweden. In 2015, Eriksson received The Design S Award in the category of handicraft. She is represented in the collection of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
