Erik Tidäng

Swedish silversmith Erik Tidäng often creates ingenious jewellery and objects for everyday use in different kinds of metal. His technology-influenced creations are reminiscent of the pared down design of the engineer, whose work is governed by the laws of physics. Tidäng is constantly looking for details, material combinations and constructions that can be developed into new shapes and solutions.

Erik Tidäng (b. 1973, Gothenburg) lives and works in Stockholm. He attended Steneby School of Art and Cultural Education, and holds an MFA in Metal Design from The University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Tidäng is a co-founder and member of the gallery and workshop collective LOD in Sweden. He is also represented in a number of collections, including that of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
