Charlotta Grunewald

Charlotta Grunewald is the Obstetrician who has had the world as her field of work. She shares her experiences and view of what happens around us through narrative textiles. It is embroideries and fabric appliqués that bring with them a strong visual world that is impossible to resist.

Charlotta Grunewald, born 1953, lives and works in Stockholm. Autodidact in textile art, retired Senior Physician and docent in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Has also served as an Obstetrician on various missions in Afghanistan, Yemen and Pakistan. As a Doctor, Charlotta Grunewald has fought for women to receive safer maternity care and in art she has found another way to contribute and convey her experiences.
