Anna Forsberg

Anna Forsberg is a Swedish entrepreneurial designer passionate about traditional crafts and the ethical production of artistic rugs. Her rugs are equally beautiful to hang on the wall as they are placed on the floor.

Anna Forsberg (b. 1982, Örebro) lives and works in Stockholm. She is an entrepreneurial designer and former owner of the Spunk Design store – a platform showcasing young artists and designers. In 2012, Forsberg founded the company Makeda with the vision of combining textile crafts with art and graphic design. She also initiated the art project Quarantine Stories, where six international artists create one rug together. This project interweaves the experiences of artists who are based in different epicentres of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Quarantena - "Quarantine Stories".

In the art project Quarantine Stories, initiated by Swedish designer Anna Forsberg, six international artists create one rug together. This project interweaves the experiences of artists who are based in different epicentres of the Covid-19 pandemic and have never met each other before. Each artist works in their own studio with their own pattern for the rug, which will amount to 40 cm of the rug’s total length. The rug will then be a joined composition of stories from people who have been connected via their art in times of crisis. The rug measures 240 x 170 cm. Exhibited in “Quarantena” (May 7 – June 15, 2020).
