Aia Jüdes

Aia Jüdes combines craft with modern technology in her strong and personal artworks.

Aia Jüdes (b. 1979) resides and works in Stockholm. She is a self-taught artist with a background in fashion photography. Jüdes works with experimental craft in the periphery between sloyd, design and art. She is represented at Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

Shoulder bag, "Louis no. 1".

Braided birch bark, vegetable-tanned leather, ink, wood gilded in 23K gold. Purchased by Nationalmuseum in Stockholm after a donation by the Bengt Julin Fund. Exhibited in ”Näver Say Näver” (January 12 – February 2, 2013).

Lamp, "Burl".

Lamp, Burl, wooden box painted in grenadine colour with hologram varnish, puddle in brass, burl, fibre optics, detail in crocheted mohair. Exhibited in “The Return of the Burls” (February 1 – 22, 2020).
