Hide & Seek – Things are not what they seem
Vernissage Saturday, April 22, 11 am – 4 pm
In nature camouflage is a way for animals to find protection and shelter but it also creates mystery, an optical illusion that gives you the feeling that you have to investigate closely what you are looking at to understand it.
Curiosity and entomology is a shared interest for Anna Forsberg and Märta Mattsson. Anna´s father used to travel the world to collect specimens of butterflies and moths while Märta´s mother used to collect dead wasps and other animals she found in the woods in Sweden. Being exposed to dead insects displayed in cabinets of curiosities, resulted in a shared mutual fascination for these little creatures but their own artistic approach to working with insects stems from opposite emotions.
The exhibition runs April 22 to May 14, 2017
